This whole blog thing can be overwhelming! Whew! Between children, school, full time mommy/wife duties at home, being sick so much, and running a business, my poor blog has suffered tremendously. Several changes are being implemented though! =)

So, for a few of the changes! A sneak peek of the session will be posted on the blog FIRST, and then hit Facebook a few hours later. Facebook makes photos look horrible anyway, so I would rather you see them without all that yucky compression first. Also, there will be a new blog post every Wednesday. It will either be a personal one or one with a tutorial of some kind on how I do certain things in the photography world. They may not work for everyone, but its how I do things and it works for me =) I’ve been getting asked about several different things so I think this will be more beneficial to others, and I can just direct them to the blog post! I am finally wanting to help other photographers again when they ask me questions about things. I’ve had my guard up because of the bullhockey nastiness that the other 2 photographers (who shall remain unnamed) have done to me, and thats just not the person I am. I love to teach and to help when I can. It makes me happy, and that is what I want to do! If anything, they have taught me an amazing lesson and I am moving forward!

As usual, a blog post is boring without a picture. SO I will post my newest favorite photo of my sweet baby boys! You’ve seen it before on facebook, but thats ok. This is the first time for it to be on the blog! =) Their full session will be posted after I’m caught up with the other 8 sessions I need to blog.

This statement still rings true to this day, a decade later. It has been 10 years, but it still feels like it was just yesterday. I know just where I was, what I was doing, and how I felt. The disbelief that this was happening, the heartbreak, the pain of knowing that so many people had lost their lives and their loved ones, that our nation was under attack. I will never forget. I was 15. So many people were lost that day. So many Heros trying to help save those in need. So many people became Heros that day. So many since then have became Heros. Too many lives lost. Military personnel, firemen, policemen, EMT’s, workers, mothers, daughters, sisters, fathers, sons, brothers, husbands, wives, just too many.

My heart is a little heavier today though. I personally didn’t know anyone that lost their lives that day. And since the war on terror started, I personally didn’t know any of our brave men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom, because of what happened that day. That declaration of war. As a Marine Wife, my heart hurts to hear the news of the Heros that have passed and the Heros they leave behind. I’ve been a Marine Wife for a little over 6 years, my husband has been a Marine for 8 years and continues to proudly serve his country. He, as well as so many others, serve to keep us safe, to defend our freedom. In this time, I didn’t personally have a connection to any of those Heros other than being part of their Military family. This year, this time, I do. This Hero lost his life while serving his country in Afghanistan. He left behind a wonderful wife, who is a very dear friend of mine, and 3 amazing children. While I never got to meet him, I “knew” him through Mary, and that was enough for me. They were amazing together and had a gorgeous family. They had a love that one could only hope for and you could feel it in the way Mary talked about TJ. I love you Mary, and I wish I weren’t so far away from you. SSgt Dudley, you will not be forgotten. You are a Hero, and one that I will make sure my children remember forever.

On this day last year, my husband reenlisted again for a second time, to take his time in service to 12 years. This day, is the one day that meant something to him, the reason he and so many others have had to fight in the war on terror. I am so proud to be his wife. I am forever grateful to him, to those who serve, to my fellow Military wives, to those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice and the families they left to soon.

I am SO excited to finally show off the NEW and insanely improved blog! My personality and brand are definitely more prominent in this one! I want to apologize yet again for what happened with the old one. (If you are on my fan page, or personal facebook page, you will know what I’m talking about.) Her actions were highly unprofessional, something I would NEVER do to someone else, and my business took a small hit. However, I actually need to thank her. What she did has only pushed me faster in to the right direction for my business! I am even more determined now than I was before. I am coming out on top, and with the biggest smile ever. With this new blog, you will get to know me even better on a more personal and professional level. A very amazing photographer, and someone I highly admire said “Your website is your handshake. Your blog is your voice.” I have a very loud voice and I want it to be heard and remembered! =)
